It’s hard to believe another year has come and gone. This year has been a year of growth not only for me, but for Wichita Professional Communicators. I’m proud of the hard work our board has put in to think outside the box and try new things. When you surround yourself with upwardly mobile people who aren’t afraid to push the envelope a little bit, good things happen. Like that one time we totally PACKED Larkspur to hear from Wichita By E.B. What a thrill!
As we wrap up 2022, I want to remind you all about the great work Wichita Professional Communicators does each year. Through donations, attendance at monthly luncheons, and bidding on silent auction items at our annual fundraiser, you are providing a scholarship to the next generation of professional communicators in Wichita. Many of us are former college students, so I know you can understand how valuable a scholarship can be for students.
I challenge you to invite your friends or colleagues to an upcoming meeting in 2023. As I pass the torch to our next president, my wish for this organization is to see it continue to grow into the premier communications group in Wichita. I would love to see this group outgrow its space at Larkspur. It’s good to dream, isn’t it?
On a totally different note, stay healthy. I didn’t listen to the meteorologists when they told us to turn the heat on in our homes last Sunday, and my icebox house was 52 degrees Monday morning. Needless to say I caught the crud and felt gross this entire week. Stay warm. Eat healthy foods. Wash your hands. Wear your mask if you feel so inclined. Let’s do what we can to keep Covid away this winter.
It’s an honor to know such talented communicators. Thank you all for what you contribute to our great city.
